Definition

As compared to earlier conventional formats, Rich Media provides an enhanced user experience.

Information

It is not an easy task to define rich media. The new formats are being regularly introduced and old formats starts losing users or disappear completely.

JPEC and GIF are the example of standard graphic formats, which cannot be considered as rich media. A few popular formats usually seen as rich media comprise Shockwave & Macromedia Flash, in combination with different video and audio formats.
