Clickthrough

February 25,2016 in Online Advertising Glossary | 0 Comments

Definition

Signifies the procedure where one lands on the advertiser’s website by clicking on an ad.

Information

Although not the sole interaction, the clickthrough has been considered the most popular reaction to any ad. Sometimes visitors directly copy-paste/type the URL or name of the organization in the search bar. However, this depends on whether the name of the organization or its URL is shown in the ad.

For a precise record of clickthrough, robot clicks and duplicate clicks must be ignored. This is especially important when compensation is made based on the clickthrough rate.
