Brand equity is related to the value of a brand. Brand equity is based on the extent to which the brand has high brand awareness, brand loyalty, and strong product associations, which translates into higher sales volume and higher profit margins against competing brands. Brand equity also refers to another kind of assets such as patents, trademarks, and channel relationships.
