Link checker refers to the tools utilized for evaluating broken hyperlinks.  

Information:

Link checking is one of the main features for site management – maintenance that is required to keep a site updated.

A broken hyperlink does not accurately direct to a designated page. An example consists of a damaged hyperlink when the assigned page is terminated or relocated to another location.

General link checking includes evaluating for “404 – File Not Found” responses. Several link checkers examine for slow-loading sites, recording sites that abandon to respond during an appropriate time range.

Link checking tools terminate a substantial quantity of manual work, but they do not annul the necessity for a human review. For instance, a site can produce a normal response, though the data might change significantly – primarily concerning expired domains and objectionable data.
