ALT Text

Alt Text is one of the HTML attributes that offer text as a substitute when non-textual components such as images do not display.

It is an element that is usually missing from web pages, even from the tiniest personal blog to huge web corporate sites. Though, ALT text can prove to be beneficial if appropriately used. Features of ALT text include:

  1. It delivers additional information regarding an image or the location of a hyperlinked image.
  2. It assists people with disabilities by enhancing accessibility.
  3. It offers essential data for individuals who surf the Web without graphics and individuals who only use text-only browsers.
  4. It also helps in finding directions if a graphics-intensive site makes use of a poor connection. ALT text allows users to make navigational choices before graphics are fully displayed.
