Web Design Consultation and Supervision

In your point of view, what can be the most essential aspect of design?

It is the communication of information in the right way. You will be the one who will determine the type of the message, but it is the design that plays a major role in how your target audience is going to perceive your message.

We all desire to have a website that is considered to be a trendsetter or attention-grabbing. We all want it to make a buzz around the digital world. Not only this but also a well-designed website can help you gain a lot more customers. Now, you’re probably wondering how you can make your website eye-catching. You don’t have to worry about that because I can be a big help for you in this regard.

WILL YOU PREPARE A WEBSITE DESIGN FOR ME?

No, I won’t prepare your website design directly because I have a boatload of great designers that are professional and trained in everything they do. These designers will start working on your website design the minute you assign or hire me.

To remove your doubts, my designers have been put on trial various times by making them design my own projects or sometimes other clients’ projects. Suffice it is to say that they have done a marvelous job.

Other than that, you may be wasting a lot of your precious time by finding the right pick for the job as a graphic designer. Well, I can help you save a great deal of time because of my contacts, but these aren’t the only things that I offer.

SO WHY SHOULD YOU HIRE ME?

To make it compressive, I’d just like to say that even if you have skilled designers, you will need an authoritative project manager who will make sure that everything is going exactly the way it should be. You need someone who knows the working of e-commerce as well as the online environment.

The main advantage of hiring me as your website designer is that your project will definitely turn out well, and you won’t waste a single penny.

I know how everything works. You may have never gotten the chance to build a website by yourself, and when the time comes, you won’t know where to start. However, you may have worked on building some of the websites but only on a small scale. This is where I jump in. From UX to wireframes, I know it all.

Now, let me tell you a bit about myself. I have created numerous websites containing one page or millions of pages, depending upon my client’s requirements. Not only did I create them, but I’m also running them successfully.

Now, you know how I gathered my website designing and development, content creation, and marketing experience. I think this is what you’ve been looking for, and you’ve definitely come at the right place.

You want someone who has a lot of experience in this regard, and I’m right here to provide that. I can guide your entire team of web designers at every step of the way to construct a profitable website, and this is what you really desire.

The second advantage of hiring me is that you’ll save tons of money.

In most cases, I’ve seen that the website designers polish every minor detail of your website, even the places that don’t need polishing, and then they charge for them as well. You won’t have this problem with me because I’ll honestly tell you which areas should be polished or developed and which areas should be left as they are.

When I talk about an average graphic artist, I have noticed that most of them pay a lot of attention to the aesthetic appeal of the website. Undoubtedly, an artistically developed website is eye-catching, but we shouldn’t construct our website based on just beauty. The average graphic designer may be familiar with a lot of graphic tools such as Sketch, Photoshop, etc., that can make your website beautiful.

But what about the business perspective?

This business perspective is dependent on how the website is structured and built, how the customers or users interact with your website along with all the other related factors of web designing. Another thing that contributes to web designing is digital marketing that includes web analytics, online marketing, UX, copywriting, marketing, etc.

This is the sole reason behind why you should hire me as your web designer, supervisor, or guide. Because whoever you hire will “draw” beautifully or “print” significantly, but when it comes to web designing, he will have no idea what to do because it is entirely different. Some of them may have some basic understanding of the UX principles, while some may not even know what it is.

What I’m trying to convey is that you need someone who is experienced yet affordable. You will be glad to know that I’m both. I know how to develop a web from scratch. You may come across various designers who are expensive, but they don’t have much experience in the field of web development. Therefore, you need to think critically before hiring anyone.

Now, there are two conditions. One with the best-case scenario that the web designer may miss out on something that can be done in the meantime. The payment will be made based on the number of hours worked. The other with the worst-case scenario, which includes the destruction of your entire project and you lost all your money.

In such cases, it is better to have someone by your side, such as a well-experienced web designer. The main reason behind this approach is that when you invest your money and time somewhere, all you want to be is successful. I know you do. But do you know how you can achieve this? You can achieve this by defining the first phase of your project: understanding your business model, and then the last phase, which is to choose the right designer.

However, the beginning part is extremely crucial to get everything in order, but a little mistake can cost you a fortune.

Now, I’m going to explain what happens when you hire an experienced designer and still he doesn’t do his job accurately. This may happen because it may not be his specialization. Let me explain it to you by giving some examples.

If you are hiring a tad bit smarter graphic designer, he/she will know about the basic principles of UX. The graphic designer will be familiar with how the user interacts with your website or how the user utilizes your website.

The worst thing that can happen here is that the graphic designer may design your website in an illogical structure or present a website with an unfinished implementation of the web pages. This is where you can lose some of your precious money. This is because some of the designers may not consider every aspect of web designing.

If I increase the level of the designer and make him a little better, this designer may know everything there is to know regarding coding or programming. He may set your website in a proper format that can deliver profitable outputs. But what about the other related aspects of a good website? If you think that you’re hiring the best web designer in the entire world, he still wouldn’t know about the relation of content marketing, social media, and other areas of web development with your website. These areas are important because once the website is built, these are the areas that will help in growing your website further.

Is your hired web designer able to dig deeper into the user insights and define user behavior?

No, he will not because he may not know how it is done.

The most vital thing for the development of the entire team along with the business owner himself, is the evaluation of the business idea. You will get a clear understanding of the startup idea, strategies for developing the website, creating a well-structured design, and delivering the product that is in demand in the market.

Whoever you hire, he/she probably have no idea about the paid or non-paid campaigns, hasn’t done any kind of research regarding UX (and he may not even know how to conduct this research), or he may not create any code which will mean that this web designer has no understanding of the technical area of your website. Such a designer can form an extremely useless website. Imagine paying thousands of bucks for such a useless or unstructured website. Nightmare!

Designing a website requires many years of experience, which an ordinary web designer can’t acquire during the course of his career.

These are the reasons why you should hire me whenever you need a web designer.

Another thing that I didn’t mention before is your “new designer” can quit your project whenever he finds someone who’s paying him more. He stops working and doesn’t communicate with you the minute he gets a good offer from someone else. This is another reason you should hire me because I can find you many reliable and skillful web designers.

HOW MUCH DO I CHARGE FOR WEB DESIGN CONSULTATION & SUPERVISION SERVICES?

All the charges depend upon the requirements of my client. It varies from client to client and the amount of work I will need to do. Some clients will want me to start from the bottom and build the entire website with utmost care and dedication, while others will want me to make minute polishes to stay on the right track. It all depends.

To sum it up, I will charge based on your business scale and size, along with your needs. When the whole project is completed, I will calculate and review all the costs incurred depending upon the services that I offer. The price is based on an hourly rate, fixed price, or a monthly fee, including the success fee or bonus.

FAQ - WEB DESIGN CONSULTATION & SUPERVISION

How does the whole web design process look like?

If you want to create a website that your users find appealing and eye-catching, you need to know all the phases of web designing and what they include. A well-structured website can help you in building good relations with not only the users but also your entire design team. In this FAQs section, I will take you on a web designing journey where you will learn everything that happens behind the scenes of web designing and will answer all your queries related to web design.

Talking about the stages, the web designing process consists of 4 phases that are:

  • Project discovery
  • Ideation and information architecture
  • User interface design
  • Testing and evaluation

Now, I’m going to delve deeper into these stages and make you understand what goes on in them.

PHASE 1: PROJECT DISCOVERY

You start your web designing process by defining the given project, and this process is known as project discovery. In this phase, you can hold various meetings and sessions to figure out the problems currently present in your industry or niche and then come up with solutions. You also need to define the value proposition of your products. From all this information, a “lean canvas” is created that assists in validating the idea of your business and avoid the potential risks.

Competitor analysis is also conducted in this phase. This analysis aids in finding the most desired yet basic features for your product. Every information that is gathered in this phase is used to come up with robust project strategy and goals. After defining everything, I move onto the stage of design discovery.

Design discovery is a very crucial part of this phase that helps in defining the requirements of the given project. It also assists the designing team in figuring out the essential technological drivers to achieve the defined goals of the business. The major objective of the design discovery is to develop a life cycle of the project that can clearly guide the entire team on what their priorities are. The process of design discovery is not a one-man show; instead, it consists of an entire team that includes the owner of the product, UX and technical lead, and business analyst.

If you want to design a perfect product, you need to conduct some initial research which can only be achieved if you pay attention to the design discovery process.

The process of product discovery begins with this stage that consists of getting familiar with the ideas, goals, and values of your business. It will take several workshops to gather all the requirements for the projects and other related information needed to achieve the business goals.

Once you approve the project plan, we will proceed to work on the stage of research and analysis.

Now, this is the stage where you need to focus on the viability and competitive advantage of your product by:

  • Critically analyze the requirements of your project.
  • Define the audience you want to target.
  • Critically analyze your competitors and the whole market.
  • Conduct research based on UX to know more about your competitors.
  • Learn the best practices for research designing.

Why is the design discovery phase so important?

You may be wondering that why you can’t simply skip this stage and jump over the designing process directly. The simple answer to your query is that poor planning or poor choice of the design can lead to major losses for your business. You’ll waste a lot of your precious time, money, dedication, and resources if you don’t go through the design discovery stage. The design discovery process is also crucial because it can save you from some major blunders by making you:

  • Align all the requirements and goals of the project
  • Facilitate the development of the project
  • Learn and understand major assumptions and risks
  • Understand the fundamental problem of a design

What do you get?

Design discovery helps you to acquire a lot of things, but the most important deliverables of design discovery are:

  • Defined chain of value
  • Feature list of breakdown
  • User personas
  • Well-developed plan of communication
  • Audit of the existing functions

PHASE 2: IDEATION, INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE AND PROTOTYPING

This is the stage that will give life to the ideas of the designers and generate prototypes.

Pro-tip

You should come up with as many ideas as you can. This will help you in choosing the best one to move further.

Once you’ve decided on the idea, you need to move onto creating an information architecture, also known as IA.

Information architecture holds immense importance because it helps us in figuring out complex products. The recommendations made at this architecture helps in maintaining the consistency of the product and fulfill the demands and needs of the users and business.

Furthermore, information architecture assists in defining the product structure that will help in the clear arrangement of the products. In this way, your customer will know how to effectively use your product just by looking at it.

This phase creates:

  • Labels for navigation
  • Sitemaps
  • Clear design taxonomy

Now, all the prototypes and wireframes are created by using the sitemaps.

Wireframes are referred to as visual guides that demonstrate the overall association of the app pages or the website itself. On the other hand, the design of the product is portrayed by the prototypes. Both the prototypes and wireframes are the fundamental constituents of a website. They make you see the entire organization of the website and its working.

Why is information architecture so important?

Suffice it is to say, information architecture helps in maintaining the consistency of your product. It also helps to remove all the usability and navigation issues.

If you want to guarantee a long-term success, you will need a well-structured information architecture. It must also be search engine optimized. There are also some other advantages of information architecture to your business which are stated as follows:

  • Because of the enhanced reusability of the content, there is a lower cost of production.
  • All the processes of web designing are simplified.
  • You will have a better understating of the existing content context
  • You can expand your business to new markets because IA provides you with a lot more options

What do you get?

Information architecture can provide you with the following deliverables:

  • Inventory of the content
  • User flows
  • Recommendations for the better sitemap
  • Prototypes and wireframes

PHASE 3: USER INTERFACE DESIGN

When I talk about the user interface, I’m focusing on the website’s visual components. But the user interface is not all about the visual components. It also encapsulates the impact of retention and acquisition on the users. My designs of user interfaces will create such a product that will outshine any other product in the market. It also helps to create your brand identity that helps in growing your business. My process of UI design consists of the following:

  • The process of UI design begins by describing the visual layout and direction. My UX/UI designers team follow all the guidelines and come up with the structure of the preliminary product.
  • Once the product structure is decided, I move onto conducting several interviews to create a visual language.
  • From the information gathered from interviews, I will create mockups along with the other graphics that include banners, animations, icons, illustrations, etc to fulfill the requirement of visual language. My designers will also increase the speed of developing the project by creating a reference guide. This step will help us to maintain the visual consistency as well.

Why is UI design important?

UI design holds significant amount of importance due to the fact that it helps to draw a lot of attention from the visitors. It also helps to keep the users engaged or interested in your app or website. UI design shouldn’t only be aesthetically pleasing but it should also be efficient and quick to respond.

An eye-catching user interface can help in converting your visitors into potential customers and this is what I provide. I use the perfect blend of interactive and visual design, and a well-structured information architecture.

What do you get?

The phase of UI design will provide you with the following deliverables:

  • All mockups resolutions
  • Assets of UI such as banners, icons, patterns, etc.
  • Animations
  • Moddboard
  • Cooperative prototypes
  • Illustrations

PHASE 4: TESTING AND EVALUATION

Now, we have come at the last phase of web designing which is testing and evaluation. Once the product design is ready, it is passed through various tests and evaluations to make sure that it keeps on working properly and smoothly.

This is the phase where my QA specialists and UX/UI designers test and analyze the product to find viruses, bugs, or any other discrepancies. If the team finds any, the results will then be used to make new duplicates of the products. These duplicates will then be free from all kinds of bugs and errors.

SUM UP

Now, you are familiar with my complete web designing process. All of these processes are essential to make such products that fulfill the needs of your users and business.

Can you revise my current website design or finish my incomplete website design?

Yes, I can do that. I can not only assist you in designing your website but I can also take care of the testing and evaluation part of the website. If you need any help regarding UX, marketing, content, etc. I can do that as well. However, I’d like to say that it will be better to build a new website rather than updating the existing one. This approach can help you save a lot of money but it all really depends on the website at hand.

For instance, you have a coded template that is currently having some UX issues. Neither you nor your users find it much appealing. Now, there are a lot more UX setbacks as compared to the benefits. Moreover, the present design doesn’t suit your brand identity due to the changes made to your business over the course of several years. Don’t forget that you have only coded CSS or HTML template that means no source files (Sketches files, PSD).

In such situations, it is always better to start fresh.

Are your designs premade templates?

No, I don’t use premade templates. You’ll be happy to know that each of my designs is unparalleled and beyond compare. I keep the needs of my clients in my mind while making a design. To build such a website, I ask my clients for a couple of websites that they like along with the reasons behind their selection. This provides me with a basic idea of what my client demands and what I have to do to satisfy my client. I will also find some companies which are good so that I can have multiple options and ideas to choose from.

But as already mentioned – you need a website that works efficiently rather than the one that has the most beautiful design patterns.

If you go through the websites of the richest companies in the world, you’ll see that they don’t have the most aesthetically appealing websites.

Plus, have you ever considered the cost of polished photographs, videos, custom shoots, and all? They can cost you thousands of bucks. These videos and photos will then need fine-tuning and editing which will then be added to the overall cost. We shouldn’t also forget how much time this will going to take because there will always be something that needs to be fixed. Plus, the labor costs incurred in this whole process. I’ve calculated the cost of all of it and it can make a dent of 10,000USD in your bank balance.

When the clients get to know of the total cost, they always reside with the more common and standard web designs.

No doubt, an award-winning look can make your website attractive but at the end of the day, you want your website to run efficiently. This approach will help you in growing and expanding your business, not just beauty.

How much time does it usually take to prepare new design?

The time is not fixed. It can take days, weeks, or even months to complete the whole project. It all depends. If you want me to make a simple website that consists of no more than 5 pages, it will take a few hours or some days to complete.

However, if you provide me with all the project details and descriptions, comprehensive wireframes containing the content, and the photos already present in the sketch, it will take mere hours to complete the website. But if you fail to provide such details and descriptions, then I will take days to prepare the primary sketch only. Plus, I will have to correct it multiple times after testing and evaluating it. This can cost you a lot of money just in the initial phase of the project.

Talking about freelance designers, good freelance designers don’t work with one client only. They have multiple clients who keep them busy for an entire week. So, when you hire such a designer, he will start working on your project in a couple of days depending upon his schedule.

So, it will take weeks for them to respond back to you. If you need a dedicated web designer for a week or even a month, I can provide you that, for sure. But, even then, I will have to wait for some time till he winds up his previous projects.
